Q: Ford Falcon?
How many of you own and drive a Ford Falcon between the years of 1960 to 1963
A: I drove a '61 for three years while in high school back in the 60's. 144 wirh three on the tree. I did things to that car that you couldn't do today... what a blast.
Q: How do you replace welsh plugs on a six cylinder ford falcon?
Could someone please tell me how to replace welsh plugs on a six cylinder ford falcon?
A: I would call them freeze plugs! I have only ever done the job 1 time but take a look-http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoWelshPlugs1.htm
Q: How do I fix a Ford Falcon Door Lock Jam?
Hi.
I have a Ford Falcon Series III Station Wagon, and I have a problem. Whenever the inside and outside handles on the door get pulled at the same time, the lock jams, and won't stay shut; it stays in the 'open' position.
Does anyone know how I can fix this without being charged $50 by the mechanic?
A: Those old Falcon were tricky little suckers. Most were lemons from the factory. Wish I could hep you but I can't. Just monkey with it.
Q: How do I remove the radio from ford falcon ed?
I am trying to install a cd player in a ford falcon ed..
how do I remove the radio?
will i need any special tools?
A: MMMM! ED, that would be about a 94/95 model! you don't need special tools but they will make life much easier. Ford may supply it but any car radio installer will help you out. I'm pretty sure they have tamper resistant clips holding them in that you use a key style tool on.

CHEERS
A: you don't give us much to go on, what year, model, engine.
best if you take the car in and have it serviced, tell the garage about the fuel problem and ask if they will investigate and report on it.
if you are going through fuel that quick then I suggest that either you have a fuel leak or someone is syphoning your fuel tank, in which case a good new locking fuel cap may be nessesary.
Q: Headlights work, but brake lights and turn signals don't; 1968 ford falcon futura?
I have a 68 Ford Falcon Futura and the headlights will work just fine when i turn them on, but if i use the brakes or turn signals the tail lights won't work. I'm wondering if it's just a blown fuse but i can't find the fuses. Or if it's something more serious, but i can't seem to find out what's wrong. Also, the reverse lights won't work.
A: This vehicle has the old glass fuses. The fuse box is hidden up under the dash by the driver.
If the fuses are good you may have a problem in the turn signal switch ( real common in Fords) in the column. There is a repair kit sold by Motormite / Help to fix this.
You will have to remove the steering wheel to repair this, it is not an easy repair if you have never done one.
If fuses are good use a test light at the brake light switch at the brake pedal. If you have power going in and out (push pedal) suspect the turn signal switch.
This system overrides the brake to use the turn signals at the steering column. You can sometimes wiggle the turn signal arm with your foot on the brake and if the brake light goes on and off BINGO you need to fix the turn signal switch.
Q: The reason for Ford Falcon Straight Six Engine?
Does anybody know the reason behind Ford using a Straight six engine in their Ford Falcon's, rather than using a typical V engine or even a boxer engine. Please help, I am stumped on this one.
A: An Inline 6 is still used by Ford of Australia because:
1.) It is perfectly balanced and silky-smooth:
It is more balanced than a V6 because: the two ends of the engine balance each other out: Cyl.1 balances Cyl.6, 2 balances 5, 3 balances 4. Also in a Inline 6, a cylinder starts a new power stroke every 120 degrees instead of 180 in a inline 4. Therefore there are 60 degrees of overlap, resulting in a smoother power delivery. In a V engine, the cylinders are angled apart, and every stroke pushes the engine side to side, which doesn't happen in a inline engine.
2. Inlines are longer, which is why they have gone away in America. Since the Falcon is a fairly large car, its engine compartment can still handle a inline 6. V6 only came about when small cars needed 6 cylinders and an inline couldn't fit.
3. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!
Q: does anyone, apart from aussies and die-hard car enthuisiasts, know what a Ford Falcon is?
I'm a Australian, and my dad owns Ford Falcon, and i was just curious if anyone in the UK or the US has ever heard of it before?
A: We in the USA know what a Ford Falcon is since the original design started here. Your Ford Falcons are slightly different than their American counter parts. The Falcon downunder is still in production as your higher end car from what I remember. The American Ford Falcon was built from 1960 to 1970 in the USA, your Falcons look similar to the USA ones of those years. The only difference is Aussies really enjoyed the Falcon and made some nice factory hot rods from them where the US Falcon was mainly a little 6 cylinder with a few V8 cars floating around. The 1969/70 Falcon is really the last of that body style in the US, there was a 1970 1/2 model which was a Torino body with Falcon emblems that was just a way to get rid of the left over badges once the body line ran out.
So we do know about Ford Falcons in the USA but not everyone knows about the USA & Aussies Falcons, they are slightly different models and you Aussies liked them better than the USA did, ashame since they were good cars. We replaced our Falcons in 1970 with the Maverick, which could have been called Falcon like the Comet badge stayed on the new bodied Maverick / Comet. The Maverick & Comet are no longer around either I think they made it up until 1979.
I own Ford Galaxies. My dad had a 1970 Falcon and my sister had a 1961 Falcon.
Q: Is there a good website that shows you how to work on old cars - like a ford falcon etc. ?
I got a 63 ford falcon futura and there's always tinkering needed to be done. thanks
A: I'm not sure if they have a web site but the folks to ask are Chilton's, Some auto parts shops have a Chilton's library that you can use or purchase manuals from. Try also your local or nearest big city library you may be able to make copies of the pages you need to make your repairs. Good luck with the car the Fod Falcon was very popular in its day and I bet there are Falcon clubs who would offer you help in restoring your car.
Q: How much does it cost to get a new fuel pump in a Ford Falcon sedan?
I have just been told that I need a new fuel pump in my Ford Falscon sedan, and that this will most likely be an expensive job. Does anyone know how much, roughly, I will be up for here? Thanks!
A: it must be an old car as it's a falcon, those fuel pumps are pretty cheap to buy and are on the engine itself and not in the gas tank and should take less than an hour to replace.
Q: How Many Litres Does A 1993 Ford Falcon Eb Hold?

Q: Ford ea falcon water pump is leaking....can i still drive to home?
Hello,
My ford falcon ea has a water pump leak and i just want to get the car home so i can replace it. It is now stuck at work in the carpark at 10.24pm at night. It is leaking pretty bad, and i am wondering if i bring along say 10 litres of water, can i drive like 20 km's to get home and say stop every 5 km's to refill. It is a cool night around 10 deg cel. Just asking...
A: (AS LONG AS IT IS NOT POURING OUT) GO SLOW, SIDE STREETS ONLY, AND BE CAREFUL, YOU CAN BLOW A GASKET, WHICH CAN SEIZE THE MOTOR! AS YOUR DRIVING, KEEP IN MIND TO WATCH THE TEMP. GAGE, PULL OVER AND ADD WATER AS SOON AS YOU SEE IT GETTING WARMER! AS SOON AS YOU GET TO YOUR DESTINATION, LET THE CAR COOL DOWN FOR A GOOD HOUR BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO PUT THE NEW PUMP IN. GOOD LUCK!
Q: Where can I get a filter sock for 1967 Ford Falcon Futura?
I have 1967 Falcon Futura-I need filter sock-but I cant find the word "filter sock" when I search the web sites for parts -Does anyone know another word for this part? Any suggestions on the best web site to find this part?
A: Try searching for a "fuel strainer"
While many of the earlier Fords didn't have a fuel tank strainer, Delco makes a style with a 3/8" and another with a 5/16" hole that can be adapted to fit many types of fuel pickups.
Try searching "fuel strainer" on ebay.
Q: How do I install emblems on a 1963 Ford Falcon?
it's a metal emblem with the letters "Falcon". it has metal pegs that fit into the holes in my side panel, but I'm not sure how to attach it.
thanks!
A: there should be spin nuts that fit onto those pegs, if you don't have the nuts go to a parts store and take a letter with you and have then fit a nut on it for you.
