it has less 50,000 miles but the car does need some work done. needs four new tires and might need a new engine. other than that it is in almost perfect condition. any estimates are helpful.

Q: what size rims can I throw on a 1963 ford falcon futura convertible?
Just wondering if anyone owns a '63 falcon with bigger rim size than mine. The car is stock suspension with I think 185 * 80 "13 tires on it. i want something a little beefier/racier. Like some crager ss rims. What size tire/rim combo will work? 14" the biggest?

A: That car is an antique classic, now. Anything that you do to it that is not OEM (factory) is going to cause it to depreciate. Keep it stock.

Q: can a chevy 700r4 tranny "physically" fit in a 1963 FORD FALCON?
im wondering if the size of the tranny is too big, width wise and tall wise. i know some parts customizing will need to be done. also, i know that people have put 302 v8's in a falcon, but what about BIG BLOCKS? do they" fit"? well i have a few 454's laying around and a nicely rebuilt and ready 700r4. the falcon already has an upgraded late model rear end. im just curious, as i have no ford motors and never had. the car DID have a 302 in it last.

A: Anything will basically fit in any car. Removing the tranny hump and fitting a new one is a relatively small task, if you are you are going to go to the extent of trying to fit a bigblock and a T700. As far as a big block, you would need to do major work. I belive you would need to change to a mcphearson strut, K frame and steering rack conversion to make adequet room. You would also need to either strengthen or replace the chassis, as well as upgrade the brakes and diff (obviously) My question is why would you want to put a chev or any chev parts into a Ford? There are TONS of Ford parts that will go as good as, and perfrom as well as a the chev. My choice would be a cross boss motor, which could easily produce as much power as the car could handle, with either a C4 or FMX box (No real need for an o/d, and with power and torque, the o/d would be prone to break anyway). You also have the option of alloy heads, which reduce weight, or you could also fit many NASCAR parts to the motor and blow the doors off a slug of a big block.

Q: how much is a 1963 v62 door ford falcon in mid condition worth?

A: They didn't come with a v6, either a v8 - 260 or inline 6 - 170 I would guess $7500 tops

Q: Ford Falcon??! help.?
Im interesed on buying a 1963 falcon futura (which I absolutely love!) The condition of the car is nice and the interior is perfect. The owner says the car runs well (still need to make sure on that before buying of course). My family hates the idea that im into old cars because honestly im just not into new cars. They think its a awful investment since the car is 2,500. Im putting half and my bf is putting the other half. What do you think? Any negative or positive feedback on Falcons? Can i rely on this car with driving around town and gas? Thanks!

A: I'm an old Ford nut myself and would love to get my hands on an old Falcon like you have found (my great grandfather had a 64). Drawbacks to a car like this though are that parts can be very difficult to find. While items like the starter and the alternator may have not changed much over the years, body parts are going to be a different story (should you ever need them). Keep in mind that it's got a carburetor, so depending on where you live starting in cold weather might have it's challenges. Also, it's going to have 4 wheel drum brakes on it, which means increased stopping distances. Outside of that, items like the brake shoes, tires, etc should be relatively inexpensive to replace. You should also look into what insurance is going to cost you before you buy the car. I hope this helps! If the car has been kept up by it's current (or previous) owners, reliability should not be an issue. Fuel mileage may be a different story though, and it's not going to have the ability to maintain everything like today's modern cars.
