Q: find engine sizes for a 1964 ford falcon?
I am looking to put a engine in my son's 1964 falcon, he has a 170 but I am looking to put a 200 or possibly a 262 if I do not have to do any reconstruction of the engine compartment, such as rearranging motor mounts etc... any suggestions? I will also be having a new transmission dropped in at the same time.

A: In 1964 factory installation was a L6, 144.3 - 170.0 - 200.0 - and V8, 260.0, 116 hp.

Q: How much should I ask for both doors from a 1964 Ford Falcon 2dr Hardtop?
These are very solid straight doors, freshly painted, not professional, I see one run for sure, thanx for the input!

A: Depends on how fast you want to sell them. Freshly painted means nothing since they'll need to be repainted anyway to match whatever car they'll be mounted to. You would have been better off not having them painted, gives the buyer a look at the original condition and verify no dents have been filled. $200 to $300 is reasonable, anything higher will take longer to sell. Q: I have a 1964 ford falcon that has a serious vibration at higher rpm's seems to be tranny any ideas?

A: Serious vibration problems, especially at high speeds, are almost always associated with wheels or front end. Get your wheels balanced and your front end aligned then see if you still have vibration problems.

Q: Any body know where i can get a 1964 FORD FALCON for under 10,000?

A: I collect, appraise and restore cars. I have been doing this with great success and I can tell you that they are a dime a dozen. $123'000 for one. That I have got to see. I am not saying anyone is lying or insinuating in any way that you'd have to be an idiot for paying that much for a Falcon. Okay, there are a few exceptions to every rule. Rumplstiltskin, might I ask what is so special about this car? Honestly, for $10'000 I can probably get you a dozen or more that you can restore yourself, or one very nice one. Check, Cars On line, Deals on Wheels ( on line ), Hemming's Motor News, the list goes on. Once again, I am not saying that one did not sell for $123'000 but that is an exception. I'd still like to see a picture or proof of that one. Ones out of the junkyards here, in ND, are about $100 to $500. NOT $100'000. Get a LIFE !!!!!!!

Q: what's a ballpark price for a 1964 ford falcon convertible in great shape.?

A: Fifteen to Twenty grand.

Q: Does anyone know where I can find a 1964 Ford Falcon? 4 doors.?
My dad used to have one when he first moved to the US. It was the car he had when he dated my mom. I'm looking to find one and possibly restore it for him, if not already restored. Please inform me. Thank you very much.

A: Just an FYI : 4 door cars are not very collectible. ( 2 doors are) It may be hard to fine one in good shape. Start with EBAY Hemmings www.traderonline.com classic car auction companies. www.kruseinternational.com good luck !

Q: How much would I get at a junkyard for a 1964 Ford Falcon?
I am in MA. The car is in pretty good shape. I had it running then it stopped running and then some girl hit the door and ripped it off when I was about to get out of it. I need it gone and I was wondering if I should sell it for parts or restoration or sell it to a junkyard. I know its a piece of history and honestly my favorite car. Junking it is the equivalent of shoting a deer and letting the meat spoil. At this point I might have to pay for the damage to the girls car since I just bought mine and didn't have it insured. I am royally f&cking broke is the problem and need money now.

A: How badly was it damaged? Whatever you do, don't sell it to a junk-yard! They'll screw you over any which way they can. At the very lest, I'm sure your Falcon has several good parts on it...and some of those Falcon parts are pretty hard to find. I'd suggest putting it on eBay Motors with a reserve and go from there. If I lived closer to you (I'm in California), I'd be showing up at your door with some money and a trailer...

Q: What carburetor do I have on my Ford Falcon?
Its a 1964 Futura with a 170 single barrel carb. The carb looks a lot like the autolite 1100 but lacks a stat cover over the throttle assembly. It has the Fomoco label on it and a stamp with c3ufg written on it. Any ideas. I tried typing in the c3ufg into a carb finder and nothing came up. It doesn't look like the typical autolite 1100 shown in most manuals but I assume there are some variations between years and models. I need a new float do you think it will really make a difference?

A: Autolite 1100/1101 1 Barrel: This was introduced in 1963 and was used on all 144/170 and 200 cubic inch engines. Ford made different venturi sizes for each engine. All carburetor bores are 1 and 7/16 inch. A teflon type insert is placed in the bore to adjust the true venturi size. The 144 used a 1.0 inch, the 170 a 1.10 inch and the 200 a 1.20 inch venturi. Notes on the autolite series *All of these were manual choke until the 65 model year. Identification: *On this model the engineering number is stamped in the base area near the throttle shaft arm. If you can’t find a number use the below rules. Through 1967 production year- manual trans cars had one diaphram on the side of the float bowl. Auto trans cars had two-the second acting as an anti-stall dashpot. Locate the area where the spark control valve is. (Passenger side towards rear of carburetor) Presence of spark control valve means 1963-67, no spark control valve means 1968 and 1969 (or 1966-67 California Emissions) Remove the top and measure the venturi diameter. 1.20" means 200 C.I., 1.10" means 170 C.I. and 1.00" means it’s a 144 unit. Note: The final authority on Ford carburetors is Pony Carburetors,2001 Delphi Road, New Woodstock, NY 13122. They make an excellent pocket sized guide which lists all the engineering numbers and list numbers. They also rebuild carburetors. Plus if your numbers are not in the book they can find out what it is and whether or not it can be used on your application.
