Q: Ford Mustang?
I got a question about my 2005 Ford Mustang (manual). When I accelerate it sounds like it is revving really high but there is no power it does then when I shift from first to second or second to third (like I should be in a lower gear but i shouldnt be). It just started doing this to me a few days ago, I am not sure what the problem is?
A: Slipping clutch. Get it checked out.

Best regards,

But this is easyer. It is a 1966, coupe, 6 cylinder, automatic transmission, Ford Mustang. It is not a Shelby Mustang. Just a standard Mustang. It needs a little work, but the engine is fine. Q: How do you make a 1995 Ford Mustang manual V-6 faster in the cheapest way possible?
I have a 1995 manual 5-speed Ford Mustang and I was wondering how I could make it overall faster for cheap? By cheap I mean less than $400 a part.
A: Nitrous Oxide
Q: Can you remove the oil pan from a 2000 ford mustang without removing the engine?
I've recently busted the oil pan on my ford mustang driving over a curb. The Haynes repair manual dictates to remove the engine and transmission when replacing it. Is that necessary or is there any easier way to fix it.
I've recently busted the oil pan on my ford mustang driving over a curb. The Haynes repair manual dictates to remove the engine and transmission when replacing it. Is that necessary or is there any easier way to fix it.
It's a V6 with manual transmission.
A: If you will notice in the Haynes and Chilton Manuals, the cars are brand new without any corrosion or buggered fasteners. The shops are large, spotless and fully equipped. The guy fixing the car is obviously not worried about getting that particular car back on the road so he can drive it to work or the wife to pick the kids up from school.
Haynes and Chilton Manuals are mechanical pornography as they only illustrate the most superficial aspects of the mechanical relationship you have with your vehicle.
But they can be a good start and provide some specifications.
When I replaced the head gaskets on my Ford Windstar I still had to go online and subscribe to Fords online service manual. This was the real deal. Even though I had both the Chilton and Haynes Manuals, they were almost useless.
I recently replaced the steering rack and all my sources said that I had to unbolt and jack up the sub frame along with breaking apart the exhaust system. After a little examination, I found that I could pull it out through the wheel well easy peasy.
Hopefully you will find an easier way to replace your oil pan as I did with my steering rack..

Q: What should be the first modification to my 1989 ford mustang?
i just purchased a 1989 ford mustang and i am looking to make a first modification to it. i am looking for something fairly easy that i can do myself that i can do with normal tools. it already has bbk headers, bbk throttle body, bbk tb spacer, cold air intake, and pipes. So what can i now do to it that is fairly easy to do that will be on the cheaper side?
A: Couple different ways to tackle this question. Easiest biggest mod you could do yourself would be a Nitrous oxide kit. Biggest bang for the buck and you could install it in about 4-6 hours. If you want to go the all motor way I strongly suggest 3.73 gears. You would not be able to install your self but you would notice the second biggest difference next to the bottle(NOS).
Mass air meter is an easy 5-10 horsepower I recommend C&L 73mm, Oil change to synthetics like many have sugested, K&N filter. Bump timing to 14 degrees. Almost forgot pullys.
Do not go for a dyno tune until you change atleast heads and intake and injectors. 5.0's don't pick up much more HP from a dyno tune when they are pretty close to stock.

All there sites have great info and starting points.
P.S. My experince involves a 93 convertible with a B&G turbo kit that put down 525 HP to the wheels on the stock short block.
I put down 295 NA
Good Luck
Q: How can you tell the difference between a 1997 Ford Mustang GT, and a 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra.?
How can you tell the difference between a 1997 Ford Mustang GT, and a 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra.
A: The hood has to 2 scoops that make it resemble a cobra head, if it has stock rims those are different too. Most have SVT badging and the rear bumper says Cobra. Some have little cobra decals on the front fenders.
Q: How much would it cost to buy airbags for a 1968 Ford Mustang?
I'm thinking about purchasing a 1968 ford Mustang Coupe, but I'm not sure how much the airbags would cost to buy and have them installed. Can someone help me out?
Not suspension airbags, safety airbags. I guess I'm asking how cheap could I buy airbags, get them installed, and have sensors put in?

Q: How do I replace the floor in my 1965 Ford Mustang?
I'm restoring a 1965 Ford Mustang. I've stripped it down to a rolling chassis, and in the process discovered that the floor panels are rusted through in several places. I've also discovered evidence that the car had been in a front-end collision. I wanted to do a lot of the body work myself, but now I'm worried that cutting out the entire floor will cause the chassis to bend. I'm also worried that the chassis may already distorted due to the collision. How do I replace the floor without warping the chassis, and how can I be sure that the chassis is straight?
A: check with yearone I believe they sell floor pans, just cut out the old one, clean up the area and have the new pan welded in place.
I think the website is www.yearone.com they have a mustang specific catalog
Q: Where is a good place to buy a 1965 Ford Mustang online besides ebay motors?
I am from Texas and am looking to buy a 1965 Ford Mustang. I'v checked ebay motors and craigslist. My budget is around $5000. Any tips?
A: You're kind of limiting yourself by just looking online.
Here is a site devoted to Mustangs:
http://www.mustangclassifieds.com/index.php?page=search&cid=10&s_res=AND
As already mentioned, Autotrader.com might have some Mustangs. You can also access many newspaper classifieds online.
You can go to a bookstore and pick up a copy of Hemmings Motor News (a great source for cars and parts).
If you were to expand your search, you can usually find Mustangs at swap meets. Sometimes you'll find a good deal, sometimes not.
Q: How can i reset a service engine light on a 2001 ford mustang?
how can i reset the "service engine soon" light on a 2001 Ford Mustang.... and is there a place that i can take it to where they can tell me why the light came on?
A: You can turn the lite out by removing the negative battery cable for about 5 minutes, Autozone I think does it for free did the lite come on not to long after you got gas? check and make sure your gas cap is on and tight, also make sure the teather that secures the gas cap to the car is not stuck under the cap
Q: Is Ford planning to introduce a completely redesigned Mustang?
I want to buy a Ford Mustang (5th generation, which is the latest one) and I was wondering if I should wait and see if they're gonna introduce a completely redesigned Mustang.
Should I wait or should I buy it?
A: Yes, Ford is planning a redesign for 2010.
They are trying to keep it "top Secret" but as usual the auto enthusiasts have published some 'sneak peek' stuff already.

I wouldn't wait if I were you. I LOVE the 'retro' look of the current body style!
by the way--
Ford is not concerned about meeting the new CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) laws. They already have met some of those standards and have put into place the means to meet future CAFE restrictions.
They have PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles=Focus) and Hybrids (Escape now, Fusion next year) and even have the ONLY Hybrid/FlexFuel vehicle in R&D right now with expectations to release soon. They already have more Alternative Fuel Vehicles on the road than any other manufacturer.
And current Mustangs get pretty good gas mileage for the horsepower now
4.0 V6= 210HP
17 City/26 Hwy With Manual
16 City/24 Hwy With Automatic
4.6 V8= 300HP
15 City/23 Hwy With Manual
15 city/22 Hwy With Automatic
Both of the current engines have been previously modified (in other vehicles) to be E85 capable & this could be an option for Ford again in the future if need be to meet CAFE regulations as well
