Q: Hi, Does anyone have a good wiring diagram for a 1968 Ford Mustang?
I'm looking for a good wiring diagram for a 1968 Mustang. I need both the engine side and the instrument side if possible. Also any advice on where to install the engine ground strap would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.
A: i own a repair shop and auto zone or advance either one might have this on line,if not you would be better off getting a good repair manual for it because sometimes when you download stuff or print it out ,you loose some of the picture in between pages, and that wont help you much, but there's plenty of repair manuals on these cars, and there pretty accurate also, good luck with it hope this helps.
Q: How much does a 1968 ford mustang weigh?
I need to know so I can get it lisenced in Washington.
It is a 2 door hard top coupe, with the 289 small block V8.
A: right at 2950 lbs (this is a guess)
I did find a site that has the six, at 2635 so add a couple hundered for the v8 extras would make it 2835, so I was a little over.

the speedometer in my 68 jumps around within 5 miles of the speed that im going until it hits fourty then it evens out. any suggestions on a cheap way to fix this?
no jack rabbit starts for me...my uncle though is another story
A: Those Fix-or-replace-daily Mustangs had a habit of getting a "kink" in the cable at the side of the trans. New cable is the answer.
The problem was caused by jack-rabbit starts, but you wouldn't be guilty of that, now would you.

Q: i have a 1968 ford mustang and i need to get in the trunk but don't have a key to the trunk?
i need to get something out of the trunk but its locked and i dont have a key. does anyone have any ideas on getting the lock off or getting in the trunk through the cab.
A: You can get in by removing the back seat. With a long screwdriver, you can turn the trunk lock from the inside of the trunk. If a long enough screwdriver isn't available, a screwdriver bit and long extension will work as will a piece of pipe with a screwdriver affixed to it.The trunk lock has a slot connecting the lock cylinder to the latch. This is what you want to turn from the inside of the trunk and through the back seat. Has to be a thin enough screwdriver to fit into this slot. Nothing will be damaged doing it this way.
Q: 1968 Ford Mustang Problems. Any ideas?
Okay I have a 1968 Ford Mustang. When I accelerate, after I have been driving for a while my car begins to jerk if I don't feather the acceleration, also if I try to accelerate between 65 75 the car will either jerk or just not go any farther.I know that it's not that i have a chip in my car to prevent me from accelerating to high speeds because my dad did that with the car when my sister had it when she turned 16 and she had it removed when she turned 18,and my dad never did it for me
I know that it's not:
distributor-replaced.
fuel pump-replaced.
coil-replaced.
something in the tank-drained the gass and pulled the tank-I also cleaned the sock filter.
the resister wire-i set up an external one.
I know there's not a problem with the carb-I had a mechanic rebuild it.
The gass cap vent-I drove with it off.
replaced the fule filter at the carb.
Do you have any ideas?
A: It prob is your valve springs, if that is not the problem it could also be the floats on the carb. I would put new valve springs in to see if there is a difference

it would be selling for $8500.00
A: That's a nice looking Mustang! If you are doing Ebay, start low and use a reserve. That give the bidders a chance to get interested in it. One thing I've found out about coupes, you can put a lot more in them than you can get out of them. So you may have to come down some on your price.
These are tough times with gas prices and all, but hang in there, there's always someone looking for a Mustang. You might want to tell our group about it.
Q: 1968 Ford Mustang extremely sensitive gas pedal?
I just bought a fully restored 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe [i'd of killed for a fastback, but 30+ grand? no thank you.]
And the Engine had JUST been rebuilt less then a week prior to me purchasing it. The seller says this is the cause of the problem. But:
The Gas Pedal is SO sensitive that just the weight of my foot RESTING on it causes it to peel out.
The seller said "Since it was just recently rebuilt, and it's not driven; there's a lot of compression in the engine" or something along those lines.
Is there any way to make it less sensitive? will driving it more work this problem out like the seller told me?
Having it so sensitive, and considering I'm still an unexperienced driver; (Had my license for only a few months now)
it being so sensitive will only cause an Accident. Not to mention no Power steering on the damn thing -.-
That's what I'm complaining about.
A: The throttle linkage and springs should be closely inspected. As well as the build on the motor. Just exactly what was done to the motor. Also the gearing from the tranny to the final drive should be closely inspected. You can make a 315 (so called stock build) BHP on a "R" code motor. Put it to a final drive of 4.11 or lower. You have your culprit! But I highly doubt this is your case. Check the linkages and spring weights. Your foot resting on this "pedal" should not cuase these results.
If your motor was pumped up on the build you could have these results as well. But I would look at the linkage and final drive.
Q: what is the value of a 1968 ford mustang in good shape?
A: Ive been comparing prices for both new and old. My brother purchased a 68 for 3,000. Its in good shape and drives. Ive seen some that were in mint condition for about 6,000. Some V8 matching number 68 can go for as much as 10-20 thousand. Depending where you live and their availability the price can range and also the condition.
Q: ford mustang 1968 where do I find the engine block numbers?
A: Here you go!
