My car is a Buick Lesabre 1968 and it has the original transmission.....and i am putting a GTO 1967 engine in there....V8 6.6L 400
would it fit....they told me it would but im not sure.....
A: The bolt pattern to attach it to the motor should be the same, but it sounds like you might have some trouble with the starter.
Q: does anybody know anybody that has 1967 pontiac gto parts of parts car that they want to get rid of?

Q: 1967 Pontiac GTO?
On the 1967 pontiac GTO do the doors open by pushing a button near the back window like it did in the movie XXX starring vin diesel or was it just custom made for the movie.
A: The xXx car is actually a GTO "clone". The '67 GTO didn't come with anything like what you saw in the movie, however it was fairly common to mod them to operate similarly at the time. I have a '69 GTO Judge that I considered doing it with for a while, but ultimately decided against.

If you need to find one, go on Ebay or similar sites.

Q: So I've got a 1967 GTO with a poniac 350 in it. should I switch to Chevy? What can i do with the pontiac?
So I've got a 1967 GTO with a poniac 350 in it. should I switch to Chevy? What can i do with the pontiac?
A: the orginal enigne would be a 400. the pontiac 350 didnt come out till 68. the cool thing about pontiac engines are that they all have the same external size. in other words a 326 is the same size as a 455. with that being said you can easilly drop in a 389, 421, 428, or 455. it is true that you can build up a 350 pontiac but most choose to start with a 389 or higher due to the fact that more power can be had out of them. just do your research first before you buy your first part. and putting a chevy engine in it would just be wrong.
Q: Are the pontiac GTO 400 motors hard to find?from 1967-1978?
Are they hard to buy and how much do they cost?
A: I'm in California and the junk yards have plenty of them. Cost is about $500.00. The 455 engine is the hard one to find.
Q: need help building my 1967 pontiac 400 with 092 heads.?
ok ready! i am building a 1967 gto and im putting in a 400 engine bored out 40 that i bought today" i was told it is an early modle 400 but not sure what exact yr yet, anyways two years ago i bought some 092 heads from a car show on petty jean mountain car show /swap here in arkansas. the man i got the heads off of only could tell me this with a "smile", they came of of a very fast car with a 389 and have been shaved but wasnt sure about the seals or anything and that i would have to run high octain to run the motor or i would ruin it, NOW im going with the stock 400 crank with a high pressure oil pump electronic ignition, origional fan and water pump, with a new 4-core radiator from ames performance.
questions i need help with. 1) 67, 400 engine bored 40 over with 092 389 heads is now a 421? 2) what should i do about the pistons and rods and rings , 3) what should i go with for a carburator " 3) i have both alluminum and cast intake to shose from. 4) cam?. im not rich
A: Forget the dual point and go electronic. Headers will do very little since the engine doesn't make horsepower at high RPMs. A quadrajet carb with tuned vacuum secondaries. Displacement is just what it says. (displacement) caused by the diameter of the piston and the travel it moves. Nothing more. CC the heads to find out how much volume is left. That added to any left in your cylinder at top dead center is divided into your piston's displacement for your compression ratio.
Q: I want to learn about the 101 of automotive engines. Drag race performance, for my 67' GTO.?
Hello everyone out there in the automotive world. Im 16, dad gave me his prized possession of a 1967 Pontiac GTO. Im so stoked on it and have been wanting to have a project car for a while. The body work and interior is all being done by body shops and other professionals like that. My problem is working with my engine. Its beautiful and sounds like a BEAST, but i want to learn more about it, and frankly its a lot. i get the main concept of how motors run and what a carb. is and fuel injectors, but like i want to sup this babby up!! put some performance parts on her. people say the easiest way to learn is by taking your car apart and putting it back to gether.! Bull Shi+. You dont know the names and what they do! so people i want a real answer. something that will help me.
(maybe study it?? take class at community college?)
i dono you tell me!
LOVE THE 4oo HP!
A: Google, my young car friend. It's the best thing that there is, when you want to learn about cars. Search anything and everything you can think of.
My first step, if I were you, is to head over to Wikipedia. Start by searching for the terms you mentioned. Carburetor, fuel injection, etc. Read everything you see on the page, then follow any extra links they provide. If you want a more visual understanding, try howstuffworks.com. Excellent website for explaining things.
And actually, it's not BS to yank apart a car and put it back together. That's one of the fastest ways I've learned.
I went out, bought a cheap A$$ camaro for $500. Bought the shop manual for it, and stripped it down to it's shell. Sold the parts, made about $1000, and when I work on my current Camaro, it's a piece of cake, because I've already had my hands on all the parts. Sure, I didn't know the names to start with, but when you're under a car, having some random thing hit you in the head, you find out real fast what it's called, what it does, why you need it, and how to remove/install it.
If your engine runs right now, I wouldn't recommend taking it apart though. Swing over to Jegs, Jcwhitney, or Summit Racing. Punch in your year car and engine model, and browse through their performance packages. You should be able to find intake manifold/carb/header combos. That's what I did for my 1971 Mustang.
Good luck!
Q: What is a his/hers shifter?
What exactly is a his/hers shifter in an automobile. I know that they are sometimes found in older models of vehicles like the 1967 Pontiac GTO.
A: It is also called a Dual/Gate shifter. The his/hers appellation is a bit on the sexist side. :) It refers to the fact that it is automatic on one side and manual on the other. Because, you know, we girls can't drive a manual stick.
Q: The whole internet dosnt have what im searching for(my muscle car) can u help me out?
